BTO Mourns Death Of Sarki Hausawa of Ikare Akoko
The Federal Lawmaker representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Wednesday condoled with the Hausa Community in Ikare Akoko over the passing of Sarki Hausawa of Ikare Akoko, Alhaji Muhammadu Halidu.
A foremost community leader who spent most of his life in Ikare Akoko, Alhaji Halidu lived his life to foster a peaceful co-existence between his people and the host community.
In a statement by his Spokesperson, Alao Babatunde, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) prayed for the repose of the soul of the elder stateman who died in the early hours of today.
"The death of Sarki Hausawa of Ikare-Akoko came as a rude shock. It is a great loss to the Constituency and he will be greatly missed. He made lots of positive impact during his lifetime, contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Ikare Akoko as a symbol of unity. He was a detribalised Nigerian.
"I sympathise with his family, friends, and the Arewa Community in Ikare-Akoko and I pray that God will give us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."
